Once you have passed the interview and signed the contract, you send your documents to your school in Korea. The school submits them to Korean Immigration to get your VIN (Visa Issuance Number). Still preparing your degree or criminal record check? Check this page and see whether you are preparing the right documents in the right way.

Filling in the visa application form
Your director submits this form, but most of it is about you, so fill in as much as you can. The school completes the rest, attaches your photo, dates and signs it, and submits it to Korean Immigration.
- Do not attach a photo to the form. Fill in the boxes you can and leave the photo box empty. Send the six photographs loose, with the rest of your documents, and the school attaches one.
- Complete sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 — in section 7, only write 7.1, 7.6, 7.7, 7.8 and 7.9.
- Leave 1.2 blank — it is only for names written in Chinese characters.
- 1.7 — US applicants: your Social Security number. Everyone else: your national ID number.
- 2.1 — choose "Regular".
- 6.1 — your current employment status. "Unemployed" is fine.
- Leave 7.2, 7.3, 7.4 and 7.5 blank.
- 8.1 — select "No".
- Leave section 9 entirely blank. Your employer fills it in.
- The date, name and signature at the bottom are the director’s — do not sign it yourself.
Filling in the Self health check statement form
- Fill in the English version only.
- The date, your full name and your signature must be handwritten.
- At the bottom, write the date as YYYY.MM.DD, then your full name exactly as in your passport and police clearance, then sign.
- If there is anything on the form that you would have to answer YES to, tell us before you send anything. A visa may not be issued, and we will go through it with you first.

Contract
You can send the contract letter digitally signed or physically signed. Either way is fine. Please send your recruiter a clear photo or scan of every page of the contract letter. The paper contract goes to the school along with the other documents.
Sending your documents
- 1Photograph the 8 documents firstTake clear photos of every page of the 8 documents and show them to your recruiter. We want to check them carefully before you send them to South Korea.
- 2We give you the addressWe give you the school’s full mailing address once we have checked that your documents are all correct and correctly filled in. We do this to help you avoid sending documents to Korea twice.
- 3Send by courier — DHL, FedEx or UPSDelivery to Korea takes about 2 to 4 working days. Avoid post office airmail (it is slow and unreliable).
- 4Send us the tracking number of your courier envelopePlease take a picture of your courier envelope showing the tracking number.

After your school submits your documents, Immigration issues your VIN — on average about 2 weeks, and up to 3 weeks for schools under the Seoul and Suwon immigration offices. You then apply for the visa yourself at the Korean embassy or consulate that covers where you live: Which Korean consulate do I apply to?
