Korea has more than one embassy or consulate in most of these countries, and each one only accepts applications from the area it covers. an application sent to the wrong one is refused, so check this list before you send anything. You will also be asked to prove that you live in that area — a driving licence or state ID, or a utility bill or bank statement from the last three months.
You can only apply once your school has your Visa Issuance Number (VIN). Walk-ins are turned away almost everywhere: most consulates want an appointment booked through g4k.go.kr, and several take applications by post instead.
United States
Fourteen embassies and consulates share the United States. Several of them accept applications by post — Los Angeles, Seattle, Atlanta, Houston and Anchorage among them. Boston takes applications in person only, and Chicago accepts post from everywhere in its area except residents of Chicago city itself.

- Consulate General in Houston — Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas apart from the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Website
- Consulate in Dallas — the Dallas–Fort Worth area of Texas: Collin, Dallas, Delta, Denton, Ellis, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant and Wise counties. Website

Canada

United Kingdom
The Embassy in London stopped receiving visa applications in 2022. Everything now goes to the Korea Visa Application Centre (KVAC) in London, which is run by IOM and accepts postal applications only — you cannot hand your file in at the counter, and a courier delivered by hand is not accepted either. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all apply there, and the file itself is screened by the Korean Embassy in Berlin. KVAC London
Ireland
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Dublin takes the application, and you have to come in person with an appointment booked on g4k.go.kr. The embassy keeps your passport while the visa is being processed, so do not plan to travel abroad during those weeks. Northern Ireland is not covered here — that goes to KVAC London. Website
