Changing schools on an E-2 visa

Changing schools on an E-2 visa: school housing

This guide is for teachers whose school provides their housing. If you rent your own place, read this version instead.

Already teaching in Korea on an E-2 and moving to a new school? You don't need a new visa, but you do need to report the move to immigration. At one visit you file three applications together: Change of Workplace, Extension of Sojourn Period and Alteration of Residence.

What this guide covers

  • Book your visit on HiKorea
  • If you can't get a slot in time
  • Get these from your current school before you leave
  • The full document list
  • While you're at immigration
  • Registering with the Office of Education
